Turn Your Dump Truck Into A Salt Spreader…

​Get a good return on your dump truck with Meyer salt spreaders. We make the very best Under Tailgate Spreaders (UTG) and Replaceable Tailgate Spreaders (RTG) available. Both use a combination of a self-contained auger with removable spinners, and can apply salt, sand or combination of both, from four to 40 feet on icy drives and snowy parking lots.

Replacement Tailgate: UTG or RTG?

​After you decide to use your medium-duty dump truck for snow and ice management, the next thing you need to determine is how much ground clearance you have from the floor of the dump bed to the ground. If you have less than 44 inches, you need Meyer’s Replaceable Tailgate Spreader. In-season, Meyer RTGs easily replace your existing tailgates and provide adequate ground clearance for the spinner mechanism.

If you have 44 inches or more of clearance, you don’t need to replace the tailgate and should get a Meyer UTG. This unit mounts below the dump body to allow normal dump body operations when the spreader is not in use, saving time by eliminating in-season installation.
